Ares is currently exploring the possibility of purchasing (vice leasing) a new corporate headquarters facility in downtown Vicksburg. While the verdict is still out as to whether we will pursue this investment in the immediate future, I wanted to share a photo that I took this past week of the view from one of the candidate sites.

The Old Courthouse located in downtown Vicksburg is a Civil War-era government building that served as the courthouse for Warren County Mississippi from 1860 to 1939. The Old Courthouse is the site where Vicksburg native Jefferson Davis launched his political career and where the Confederate forces defending Vicksburg during the Civil War surrendered to General U.S. Grant – all but ending the war on the Western front.
